Heritage Transport Museum
Curiosity, the passion to collect homogenous objects, the search for the rare, unique and often elusive is what impassions all collectors. Keeping the art of collection in mind, K.R MANGALAM WORLD SCHOOL, GURUGRAM had organized a visit to the HERITAGE TRANSPORT MUSEUM, MANESAR on 14th July 2017 for the students of classes XI and XII .Located over 3 acres of land, with both indoor and outdoor exhibits, the Heritage Transport Museum focuses on the transport heritage of India. The museum showcases the evolution of transportation in India and sets a benchmark in interpretation, exhibition and in communication. As the first private museum of its scale in India, it is conceived as a didactic space that engages visitor participation in learning giving them a memorable experience.
Upon reaching the museum, the students were delighted to be welcomed by a beautiful engine located in front of the entry gate. After a refreshing walk the students were enthralled by the sight of the train and couldn’t contain their excitement as they got a view of how trains looked like in olden times. The students explored the museum and saw the mesmerizing engines, different types of road transport like cars, bikes, carts etc. Yet another attraction that helped students become acquainted with the museum and its purpose is the mini-theatre which gives the audience a glimpse of the working of a spaceship through a short movie. The students were awestruck watching the movie and even discussed about the same with their peers and teachers. The glad and contented Mangalamites then culminated their journey back to school singing melodious songs and rhymes based on road journeys. The visit hence proved to be most significant and definitely a learning experience.
