Fun, fiesta and frolic unveiled at the lush green lawns of K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurgaon as Bal Mela for Mangalamites unfurled. The highlights of the event for the primary wing included joy rides, swings, slides, bouncy, cartoon characters walking around and the horse carriage. There were different eats to tantalize the taste buds right from Idli Sambhar, Candy Floss, Frooti, Gulab Jamun and Chips.
There were various innovative game stalls put up by junior classes that included ‘Spin the wheel’, ‘Car Race’, ‘Building a pyramid’, “Break the pyramid,”Halloween Treat” and many more fun games where children enjoyed trying their luck at and also bagged a lot of prizes. It was such a delightful sight to watch them in an ecstatic mood and having the time of their life at the various joyrides in the school ground.
Not only this, the kids tickled their taste buds with the delicious foods prepared by students of middle school. ‘Chole Kulche’, ‘Macaroni Salad’, ‘Bhel Puri’, ‘Subway Sandwiches’, ‘Nachos with Dip’, ‘Fruit cake’, ‘Fruit Cream’, ‘Steam Corns’, ‘Lemonade’, ‘Soups’ were served to all.
The Nail Art and Hairstyle Stall set up by senior students attracted most of the children. Little girls loved getting their nail art done and boys enjoyed flaunting their new hairstyles.
The day concluded with the ‘Talent Hunt’ organised by Class VIII wherein all the students got an opportunity to showcase their hidden talents. Everyone was mesmerised by the amazing talent displayed by each participant. The children enjoyed showing off their dance moves on the foot tapping numbers. The icing on the cake was when the students tapped to the beats of Bhangra and shook their booties to a few English and Hindi songs on DJ managed by the students of class VIII.
The students cleaned up their respective stalls and the ground to mark the end of Bal Mela. The Principal of the school recognised the efforts of all the classes and congratulated them on the success of this funfilled event, thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The spirit of childhood was celebrated with full fervor and all the children went back home happy with loads of gifts they had won.
