Fun and Information Filled Science Fiesta
Tiny tots of K.R.Mangalam World School, Gurgaon presented the fun and information filled Science Fiesta. The objective of fiesta cum presentation was to bring out the hidden talents of the children before their parents. The budding scientists from classes Pre-Nursery to Class I presented many creative ideas through exhibits and discussion. The children from various classes showcased their knowledge and awareness on – Under Water World, Hygiene and Sanitation, Animal Kingdom, Plant Kingdom, Little Scientist, Five Senses, Traffic signs and Etiquettes, Birds, Air & Seasons.
The Parents were able to see their young ones as Faradays, Newtons and Edisons. The exhibits were creative, attractive and marvelous. Children were very enthusiastic and excited about the event. The exhibition unleashed a wave of creativity and scientific temperament among the children. It was a proud moment for the children’s as Respected Vice Chairman Sir Mr Jaidev Gupta, Principal Ma’am Ms. Neetii Kaoshik and Parents applauded the children for their great tiny efforts.
Pre - Nursery – 1 “Under Water World”
The class depicted an ‘Underwater world’ scene with different kinds of sea animals. The bottom of a boat and fishing net hung to the ceiling added to the ambience. The children were dressed up as starfish, whale, dolphin, sea horse, turtles, octopus and shark. They recited rhymes related to the same with a lot of confidence.

Pre - Nursery – 2 “Hygiene and Sanitation”
The toddlers participated with a lot of enthusiasm and propagated the message of Hygiene and Sanitation to the parents.The message was clear about how one could keep the workplace and living place clean and the benefits of clean and hygienic environment.
In a time when diseases like dengue, H1N1 etc are taking pandemic shape, the children conducted experiments to demonstrate as to how we pass on the germs when we sneeze carelessly or shake hands with others. The message was to adopt daily hygienic practices like covering the face while sneezing or coughing and washing hands regularly.
There was a whole hearted participation from the visiting parents and they were excited to see the work of their children and their enthusiasm for keeping the environment neat and clean.
Nursery – 1 “Animal Kingdom”
The presentation came out to be one of the successful events of this year.It was performed well by the students and highly appreciated by Respected Principal Ma’am and parents.
The room display included props of wild animals, water animals and farm animals. The students through their dialogue made the viewers aware of the characteristics of different animals.
Nursery – 2 “Plant Kingdom”
The presentation highlighted the importance of the plants and the necessity to raise our voice for planting more trees for a better planet. Our tiny tots were dressed in colorful attire and whole classroom was converted into an enchanted forest. Children were very enthusiastic and excited about the event. It unleashed a wave of creativity and scientific temperament amongst the children. It was a proud moment for children as the parents and the principal madam applauded for them.
Nursery – 3 “Little Scientists”
Dressed in white coats & thoroughly remembering their notes, Nursery 3 kids loved being ‘Little Scientists’. They performed some amazing experiments and in the process gained knowledge about Evaporation, Magnets, and Liquids etc.
Nursery – 4 “Our 5 Senses – Sight, Touch, Hearing, Taste and Smell”
The topic of Science Exhibition was “Our 5 Senses”. The enthusiastic children demonstrated to the guests how our 5 senses help us with the aid of models and activities. They explained the different sensations that our sense organs help us to perceive. It was a great show put up by the children.
K. G – 1 “Traffic Signs and Etiquettes”
The class was converted into a traffic park. Different traffic signals were displayed near the buildings of hospital, school, speed breaker and zebra crossing. A working model of traffic lights was there which the children explained to the parents. A model on traffic rules was also displayed on the smart board.
K. G – 2 “Birds”
The class was decorated with the models of different kinds of birds divided into six parts- farm birds, sea birds, forest birds, water birds, international birds and national birds. Children did finger printing, paper tearing, dust work and colouring on different types of birds. They were excited to speak about various types of birds. The exhibition ended on a joyful note. The children sung a beautiful poem on birds. Parents were happy to see the confidence and performance of their children.
I A “AIR”
The students of class I A exhibited experiments related to AIR. They spoke with a lot of enthusiasm and confidence. Students talked about the properties of air, uses and composition of air. The parents were over whelmed to see their little masters perform various experiments like “burning needs air” etc. In the end the students tested the knowledge of their parents by conducting a quiz.
I B “Seasons”
The class was divided into five segments, each segment was decorated in such a manner that it could depict one season. All the students participated in the class presentation with a lot of enthusiasm. They took the parents through a journey of all five seasons found in India. With the help of models, charts, and various other props, the children beautifully explained the concept of weather and seasons.. They explained the water cycle and the importance of each season through their simple dialogues .The children performed very well and were rewarded with a warm round of applause and appreciation from Principal Ma’am and Parents.
