MATH-O-MANIA
K R Mangalam World School, Gurgaon organized the first Inter House Math –O –Mania quiz between the houses Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz on 27 August 2010. The quiz started with great enthusiasm. The objective of the quiz was to sharpen the logical and analytical skills amongst children. Each Team Comprised of 6 children from classes II-VII.

The participants had to go through four different levels starting with mind boggling Visual Round which consists of counting objects and guessing the pattern, the second round was mind stretching Mental Math followed by Solve a Problem and then last but not the least Rapid fire round. Before the quiz houses had poster making competition related to Math-O-Mania. The quiz was designed and organized by Ms. Pooja Mathur and Ms. Seema Sehdev. The final Rapid fire round was taken over by the quiz masters Ms. Divvya Singh and Ms. Kavita Raj.

The questions were categorized into various levels on the basis of their age groups. It was a Brain Storming session for an hour. The competitive spirits were nurtured by House Mayors and students by loud cheering and clapping. The sound reverberate the entire quiz room which filled the students with excitements. At the end of every round there was an audience question for each class which kept the interest alive among the audiences.

Emerald house emerged as the winner of the quiz. Sapphire house was adjudged the best in the poster making competition. The winners from audiences were- Aarav Kapoor - Class II, Aniket Mittal - class III, Pratham Soni - class IV, Raunak Anand – Class V, Hritik Sethi – Class VI
The quiz ended with a motivating and inspiring note from Principal Ma’m. It was an overall interesting and enjoyable session for the whole school.
