RELIANCE MART OUTING

Children of pre-nursery visited Reliance Mart for an educational excursion on July
25 & 26, 2011. They enjoyed looking at different products displayed in various sections.
The main highlight was the toys and fruits section. The visit was followed by light
refreshments. It was an enjoyable and enriching experience for them.

LEMONADE MAKING

Class I students did this activity and enjoyed a lot. They quenched their thirst
in the humid weather by drinking cold and refreshing lemonade.

BLOCK PRINTING
|

The school reopened with a wave of artistic talents surfacing after a long vacation.
The students jumped up on the sight of paints and blocks to be printed on handkerchiefs’.
The teachers called the children one by one. They were given the blocks and paint.
It was a treat to see their excitement rise as lovely patterns formed on the handkerchiefs’
as they printed with the blocks. Thus the activity was a success!!

CLAY MODELLING

Another Friday full of fun… the students were given mud clay to play with. They
were asked to mould it to form mushrooms . The beautiful mushrooms were then left
to dry and painted red and black on the next day. The students were thrilled to
carry the self made and painted mushrooms!!!

FISH MOBILES (15.7.11)

FISH MOBILES (15.7.11) The students of nursery were thrilled to the material for
this Friday activity …fish mobiles using paper plates. They were given one paper
plate each and cut outs of fins and tail. The children pasted tem on the plate with
full enthusiasm followed by pasting of a google eye. This was then completed by
fastening of ribbons to the plate so it could be hung. Thus the activity was thoroughly
enjoyed by one and all.

CLAY MODELLING COMPETITION

CLAY MODELLING COMPETITION The students of nursery were allowed to let their imagination
flow as they created their own designs using play-doh. It was fun to see the little
hands at work as our young artists sculpted their imagination. At the end of the
competition, we could witness the creativity of our children as a number of models
laid in front of us . Thus it was great fun. Whoever may win, all our young hands
were brilliant!!!

WORKSHOP ON DINING ETIQUETTE

WORKSHOP ON DINING ETIQUETTE The children of nursery awaited their breakfast as
usual. But today, something was special about the meal! Our little ones had a class
discussion on dining etiquettes and were to be observed by their teachers for the
same . It was a delight to watch them wear aprons , spread mats on their tables,
hold spoons properly and eat without dropping food!! This was followed by a session
of watching presentations regarding the same on the interactive board. The PPT left
them wondering and also assessing their own selves on their dining etiquettes. As
all serious work is to be followed by fun, so the children were given worksheets
to colour. Thus the workshop came to an end.

MAKING A HUT AND AN IGLOO

A very interesting craft activity was conducted for class
K.G. With an objective to sensitize the students about the importance of house,
its types and method of building. Students were guided to make a beautiful origami
twin house and an igloo using colou fcrful origami paper, cotton and glitter.

KING A CORN COB
|
|
To welcome Monsoon season, students of class K.G. made a very beautiful corn cob
using paper and a plastic bottle. It was a fun filled activity which enriched many
fine motor skills. Children were proudly holding the corn cob and were singing happily
-corn on the cob goes …………pop! Pop!Pop! Pop!

MAKING A PARTY STREAMERS

|
A very exciting activity of cutting and pasting was conducted in class K.G., which
gave students the opportunity to hone their fine motor skills, observation skill
and creativity. Students made very dazzling streamers using colorful paper and had
fun in doing so.

DINNING ETIQUETTE
|
|
A very enlightening workshop was conducted for the students of class K.G. with an
objective to familiarize them with the fundamentals of good table manners. Also
to sensitize them that table manners are more than about proper eating; it's about
being kind and considerate to others . Workshop included interactive discussion,
a poem and a hands-on activity.

ENVELOPE MAKING
|
|
Creative envelops were made by the students of class I using glitter tapes, stickers
and glitters. It was a fun time for them as they participate actively in this activity.

FOLDER MAKING
|
|
Students made creative folders out of handmade chart papers. Decorative material
was provided to them. They used their imagination to decorate the folders creatively
and had fun.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

QUIZ CLUB & ELCOUTION
|
Children were asked questions about animals- their homes, sounds, etc. They enjoyed
a lot and learned new facts about animals. Topic of elocution was “Importance of
Books”. Children shared their views about the importance of books in our life.

AEROBICS
|
|
The sessions in July were very fun filled. The children learned to exercise with
the drum beat which trained them mentally as well as physically.

POTTER’S WHEEL
|
|
Potter’s Wheel is an exciting activity for children. All the students hurried to
finish their lunch so that they can try giving new shape to the mud. The students
tried their hands at making piggy banks. We could see piggy banks of all shapes
and sizes made by the children till they reached perfection. In subsequent sessions,
they gave colours to their creations. They painted their piggy banks with different
colours. They also tried to make pots. They observed the potter moving the finger
and they tried until they succeeded.

COOKING & BAKING
|
|
Children made Bhelpuri using Rice Puffs, Peanuts, Tamarind Chutney and various vegetables
like tomato, onion, raw mango and cucumber. Children enthusiastically helped in
cutting all the vegetables and assembled the ingredients to make the bhel puri.
Children enjoyed learning and eating this delicious and healthy snack.

ECO CLUB

|
A general introduction about Nature and Eco Club activities was given to students.
They had been told how to take care of nature and to make use of eco-friendly products
to save this planet. Students have been given worksheet about origami gardening.
Students have been taken to field for creating their own organic garden. They were
provided with different tools for sowing seeds and were introduced to steps required
for preparation of garden.

CANDLE MAKING/HAND EMROIDERY
|
|
In this activity, students were taught how to make bookmarks, folders, gift-wrapping
papers and envelopes. They made three stationary items with handmade sheets, fluorescent
sheets and glitters.

ELECTRICALS AND ELECTRONICS
|
|
The activity was conducted by an external faculty. Basic concept of atom and its
structure was explained to the students. They were told how atom comes from a Greek
word “atomos” which means indivisible. In subsequent sessions, concept of electrivity
was explained to students. Few experiments were done to show how current flows in
circuit and how current can be measured by Ammeter.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
|
|
The sessions mainly focused on knowing the internals of the computer. They were
told the importance of maintaining the IT equipments. The internal processing was
shown by showing them the inside of CPU and they gained interest by looking at RAM,
fan, hard disk, motherboard etc and their uses. They also learned about memory devices
used in the computer.

PAINTING AND TIE & DIE
|
|
The month of July was full of fun and frolic. This activity boost up the morale
and confidence of the students, thus enabling them to discover their talent.Students
started work with colours on the paper. They did outline first on the given drawing
and did brush strokes with flat brush and round brush. This is a first step and
smart way of learning painting. The idea behind this was to make all the children
to get familiar with brush and colour. The children enjoyed the activity enthusiastically.

PHOTOGRAPHY
|
|
Students learnt about photography’s negative and positive area and hiow negative
and positive area differentiate in camera roll and hard copy. They did this technique
on paper to understand it practically. They were also given a detail explanation
about the light, focus and exposure.
