FRIDAY WORKSHOP REPORT

Nursery – MASK MAKING

Nursery classes had a workshop on Mask Making. With the help of paper plates, crepe / chart paper and ribbons etc. Children made beautiful clown masks. They were thrilled to see the transformation of a paper plate into a cute clown. It was a fun filled activity for them.

K.G – MAKING OF CORN COB
Kids used mini plastic bottles, yellow & green crepe paper and the yellow tissue paper for making corns. During the activity kids made the small balls with yellow tissue paper and they stick the balls on the mini bottle which was covered with yellow crepe paper. Then they stick the corn on the green leaf. After that they went to Principal Madam and shared their experience. They also showed their creativity to all the teachers who visited their class. It was a great learning experience.

CLASS I
Workshop on ‘Salad Making’ was fruitfully conducted by Ms. Bhavana Bagga
 & Ms. Priyanka Sukhija. The main aim of this workshop was to create awareness among children regarding the importance of salad in our daily diet. Children were taught how to make salads interesting and tempting. They made Russian salad. Children came to know that there’s a large variety of salads and it can be part of the meal or a wholesome meal. They realized that salads are not always boring but interesting and tasty too.

CLASS II
Workshop on ‘Clay Modeling’ was successfully conducted by ‘Mr. Jitender and Ms. Bela Verma’. Theme for the workshop was ‘Things That Go Together’. Little artists had their first hands on experience with the clay. They were excited and overwhelmed throughout the workshop. Cute little queries were taken up by the facilitator. It turned out to be a fruitful workshop.

CLASS III
Workshop on ‘Social Graces & Personality Development’ was successfully conducted by Ms. Runa Nanda and Ms. Ritu Wasan . Children were explained how social graces are important in all aspects of life from play ground to class room to the workplace. The aim of conducting this workshop was to help students establish a positive relationship with one another and to develop decency and decorum. Since social graces are lifelong survival skills, it would help in instilling good values like kindness and consideration which are building blocks of good manners.

CLASS IV
Workshop on ‘Kitchen Gardening’ was conducted by Ms. Santosh Dhiman and Ms. Shweta Puri to bring an appreciation among children to prepare, grow and share fresh, seasonal product. To introduce the concept of simple knowledge of the garden and the cycle of growth that we seem to have overlooked in our busy lifestyles was the main aim of this workshop. Children were told about five seasons and different fruits, vegetables and flowers which could be grown during these seasons.
CLASS V
Workshop on ‘Rangoli’ was very well organized by Ms. Shefali Singh and Ms. Priyaa Chauhan. Children were taught how to fill different colours in Rangoli using water color. While making Rangoli in groups, they realized the importance of unity and to accomplish their task fast and easily.

CLASS VI
Workshop on ‘Movie Review’ was conducted by Ms. Asha Rustagi and Ms. Pooja Bhasin. Children were shown the movie Malgudi Days. After watching the movie, they were able to summarize the story in their own words including the nature, story line and rating of the movie. This workshop enabled them to analyze the key strength of the movie and help them in being the real critic of the movie.

CLASS VII
Workshop on ‘General Health and First Aid’ was conducted by Ms. Pooja Yadav and Ms. Ruchika Shabi to make the children aware of general health, balanced diet and different food groups. They were taught how to give first aid to their friends when such a situation arises. Children were really keen and enthusiastic to measure their height, weight and blood pressure. They appreciated the importance of exercise, proper rest and sleep in their schedule. They get to know that mental health is equally important or physical health.
